When I think about dance, I think about performance, not just movement or choreography, but music, costume, space, and how these elements collaborate to transmit meaning.
Currently based in Palafrugell, my research focuses on memory and storytelling through sewing and garments, incorporating movement and sound to create performances, installations, and workshops that address gendered experiences under repression, inspired by the Spanish dictatorship.
My background is grounded in dance and fine arts restoration, both studied in Barcelona. I spent eleven years in Germany where I completed a three-year professional training in contemporary dance and worked as a dancer, performer, and creator. I became a certified Feldenkrais practitioner in Italy, and I hold an MA in Performance Practices from ArtEZ, where I focused on de-disciplining and experimented with sound in movement as a way of queering dance.
I began as a dancer, and my work has moved toward choreography, research, and composition. I work both independently and in collaboration, and I am drawn to projects that bring together artists from different disciplines.
My choreographic work moves between movement and sound as parallel media. A movement quality, for instance, can be translated into a soundscape that carries the same sensation. My practice draws from contemporary dance, somatics, and improvisation, with early influences from hip-hop and funkstyles that continue to shape my musicality. My work is also informed by feminist writers and artists who see storytelling as a way of rewriting narrative and making space for many voices.
